This is strange -- are you able to login to your BigBlueButton server and watch the incoming request log for HTTP request /var/log/nginx/bigbluebutton.access.log You can see a log for the LTI requests here /var/log/bigbluebutton/bbb-lti.log Tail the above logs and do another request from Open edX and see if you see the incoming user name on the LTI launch.
