Hi Jason,

The controvery monitoring engine is an interesting idea, but I wonder if
its effects will be different than you intend.

First, a shortage of volunteers who are willing to intervene in
controversies has limited previous attempts to improve conflict resolution
on English Wikipedia. Without the necessary personnel to intervene
productively in controversies, flagging controversies might have little
effect at actually getting them resolved prior to escalation to ANI or
other venues.

Second, flagging controversies might have the effect of attracting more
people into the fray instead of improving the situation.

Third, I would like to ask of you have you had any feedback from
experienced conflict resolution admins about the proposal?

I will be interested in your responses.

Thanks,

Pine
