Hi!

I've noticed this kind of freeze also on Ubuntu... Has this happened
when you were accessing an SD card? There is a new BIOS update for the
EeePC 900 which fixes SD card compatibility. This *SEEMS* to have made
the problem lessen for me...

I didn't manage to get OSS to work on mine. Did you need to do
something before installing it?

=======================================================

I haven't seen it freeze because of SD card access. My entire Solaris
installation is
on SDHC card. How do I upgrade the BIOS on the EeePC 900 ?

To install OSS I did the following steps:

--- 1. First remove SUNWaudio
# pkg uninstall SUNWaudiohd
--- 2. Reboot
--- Download oss-solaris-v4.0-123-i386.pkg from
--- www.opensound.com
--- 3. Install (see also pdf install instructions)
# pkgadd -d oss-solaris-v4.0-123-i386.pkg
--- 4 Reboot again
             Test
% osstest

--- Bring up mixer to check volume control:
% ossxmix

Most audio applications I'm using seemed to work:
mpg123 and mplayer worked even though I had built it
only for SunAudio.

Regards,

/KarlD
