If you are using Indiana you could add the sunfreeware as a repository
and gain access to the packages they have built for opensolaris under IPS:
# pkg set-authority -O http://pkg.sunfreeware.com:9000 sunfreeware.com

After that you can install the packages you want from the GUI package
manager or using 'pkg install'
Although, it appears that only a subset of all the sunfreeware packages
have been included in the IPS system.
