In the Power Management Preferences there is an option under Battery power,
where you can set what to do when when power is low". I have it set to shutdown.
Don't know if this actually works and the shutdown scripts get invoked. This of
course also assumes that the battery meter reading translation is accurate for
the Eee PC.

The battery that came with my 900 had only 5200 mAh so I ordered one of those
10400 mAh batteries sold on Ebay, which seems to work fine. It gives me up to
5 hours of continuous use use with wlan on.
