I'm glad to hear that you started looking into this.
I just got a couple of Eee PC 900's and I currently I
have to run Linux (Mandriva) on them as I need wired LAN.
I will install solaris as soon as there is an ethernet driver.

The information about the wired LAN in the 900 is:
