set verbosity higher and look for the logfiles.
I have several sites with ~0 problem. On one site with exactly one 
machine we are still fighting. Most likely it is hardware related problem.

For me it was never unstable. It was explicitly dropped if I tried to 
log in twice with the same certificate (not with the default config, it 
is password-driven).

I have rock-stable connection. Although we have everywhere at least 
1.5Mbit connections. I used RDP as well, no problem. I use even DHCP 
through it (I am lazy :) )
