I made a spamassassin 3.1.7 package for Endian. It is here along with
the src package and an "extras" which is everything not in the normal
package. You do not need extras but it gets built from the spec file.

To upgrade your would do a

rpm -Uvh
http://www.stellarcore.net/downloads/efw2-updates/perl-Mail-SpamAssassin-3.1.7-1.endian4.i386.rpm

I would also suggest doing at sync on the bayes database afterword

su --command="sa-learn -p /etc/spamassassin/local.cf --sync" amavis

....

Also regarding the p3scan issue. I do think that that the clamav user
can not use the bayes database because if I do a a lint test like so

 su --command="spamassassin -D -p /etc/spamassassin/local.cf --lint" -s
/bin/sh clamav

I get the warnings that it can not open bayes.. I'm going to change the
permissions on mine when I upgrade in production and see what happens.
