You may want to install EFW on (or better to say within) a XEN-VM.

Szenario: 
Dom0:  hosts several DomUs
DomU 1: EFW (RED, GREEN, ORANGE) and VPN Access
DomU 2: Server for LAN with Samba
DomU 3: VDR
DomU 4: Asterisk
DomU 5: DMZ-Server with Webmail Interface to your internel IMAP-Server
...
