Hello,

I'm using EFW2 for accepting mails from the Internet for my domain and
forwarding them to my internal mailer in the DMZ. For outgoing mail I
configured the transparent SMTP-proxy in EFW and forward all mails to the
smarthost of my provider. This constellation works fine.

Now the problem: An attacker makes a Brute-Force-Attack to my domain and uses
recipients from a dictionary. EFW takes the mail and forwards it to the
internal mailer which bounces the mail because of the false recipient. EFW now
sends an NDR to the smarthost of my provider. My provider is not amused about
that.

What can I do to stop sending the NDRs over the smarthost? Can EFW ask the
internal mailer if a recipient exists and rejects the mail before EWF accepts
it? Disabling the smarthost is no option, since I have a dynamic IP.

Greetings
Martin
