Not sure of the impact on Endian but I picked up this note off the MailScanner.

"If anyone is still seeing this problem, we found that it's fixed by
force reinstalling the clamav perl module. According to the clamav
developers:

Due to the changes in libclamav, 0.88.7 is not binary compatible with
previous versions. To solve the issues you have to recompile all the software
which is linked against libclamav."

So it does look like there is something funky about ClamAV 0.88.7 which couold 
cause some errors. My advice is if you seem to have any trouble after you 
upgrade use "rpm -e --nodeps" to remove the 0.88.7 then run rpm -Uvh to restore 
0.88.6 you'll have to copy /etc/clamav/*.conf.rpmsave back to the 
freshclam.conf clamd.conf files.

Sometime in the next 48 hours I'll try to run a virus test on each part of the 
system [smtp/pop3/http] I do know that it works fine with Frox/ftp but that 
uses clamdscan so it makes sense.
