How should i setup my private repository?

we use smart as package manager in order to update our enterprise 
installations. currently we have no publicly available repository. maybe 
this will change in future. 
currently there is no pubic service but we provide only the possibility. 
at the moment one may set up his own repository in order to easily upgrade.
