the pop3 proxy intercepts port 110 and also port 995.
the problem is that efw cannot decrypt an encrypted 995 connection on
the fly, thus it is necessary to let the connection from client to efw
unencrypted.

configure your mail client in a manner that it uses pop3 (unencrypted),
but set the pop port to 995 insteat of 110.

this way efw knows that you want to have pop3s and the pop3 proxy starts
a pop3s connection from efw to the pop server, but lets the connection
from client to efw plain unencrypted. efw will accept any ssl certificate.

that's not the best solution, but the only possible way to deal with
encrypted connections.
