that's because pop3scan has no trickling and the clients get a timeout
while pop3scan scans the mails.
We managed it to solve the problem by upgrading spamassassin and clamav.
We also have seen that the pyzor server stopped working. Therefore
spamassassin waits until it gets a timeout from the pyzor server. This
is going to comsume somewhat long time which lets the client timeout.
Our next release will fix this. In the meantime you could try to disable
pyzor by editing /etc/spamassassin/local.cf.tmpl and toggle off pyzor by
setting the line
use_pyzor 1 to
use_pyzor 0
and restart pop3scan with
restartpopscan
