EFW with green, orange, blue, red. Red is connected to ADSL2+ -line with
Thomson 546, subnet 80.203.210.120 - 80.203.210.127, disabled firewall
on the Speedtouch (80.203.210.121), the EFW is the only firewall. Red is
configured static with 80.203.210.123, 124,125&126 a alias (www, etc),
121 as GW.
Exchange-server on green (working on a new SMTP server for use on
orange, but...). The EFW is configured as "naturally" with transparent
proxy, a few blacklists, and is working nicely, except:
Some mail will not be received. Approx 80% of email is received OK, but
some never get trough. It seems it is especially my ISP-s (broadpark.no)
mail-servers that sometime is not able to send mail. Users get errors
from postmaster at broadpark: "connection timed out" or "no route to
host", or a combination. I have been in touch with my ISP support, they
cannot find any faults, yet, but they will continue search.
I am not 100% confident my (DNS-IP)setup is correct, but as I cannot find any
faults:
My DNS is like this: Domain: fikse.be (80.203.210.124) mail.fikse.be
(80.203.210.123) MX0=mail.fikse.be, MX100=mx2.zoneedit.com
I have an ADSL2+ -line with an SpeedTouch 546, subnet 80.203.210.120 -
80.203.210.127, disabled firewall on the Speedtouch, the EFW is the only
firewall.
In the logs I see that SMTPproxy reports:
Connections lost:
Connection lost while CONNECT : 13 Time(s)
Connection lost while DATA : 1 Time(s)
Connection lost while MAIL : 2 Time(s)
Connection lost while RCPT : 90 Time(s)
Connection lost while RSET : 1 Time(s)
Total mails today:
42 Scanned
39 (92.86%) Clean passed
3 ( 7.14%) Spam passed
Could this be caused by EFW using to long time to receive mails?
Greylisting is activated, and the broadpark-server is whitelisted.
I have some packetloss on the ADSL-connection, between 1-3%...
The EFW hardware is a 1.8GHz AMD, 1 GB mem, 10GB disc, and has alot of
free rescourses.

Bent, Norway
