I have setup the SMTP proxy for our mail server. We have our own
internally. We use our ISP's DNS for the client computers, but an
internal DNS for our servers (clients are going to be moved over
shortly, kind of a pain with 100 hosts and all set statically). I have
an issue though. It works fine for a little while, but after a bit, some
of my users (random) get errors saying relay access denied. Not all of
them though. The SMTP proxy worked great for filtering spam and we
recieved with no problem (no spam at all actually), but sending only
worked for a while, then it would stop. I had it sent to transparent on
green and all but spamhaus RBL turned on. I whitelisted gertens.com and
mail.gertens.com, www.gertens.com. This did not solve the problem. Sorry
if I did not describe enough, let me know any information you may need
and I will reply rapidly.
So,
Problem: Some clients are getting relay denied errors, and only random
clients, but persists on that client.
