Well, I was going to say that I took the surfboard I owned to Comcast, my
provider, and they swapped for a new Scientific-Atlanta modem that was much
faster, for no charge.

I was thinking you might not have had an ethernet interface, which is much
faster, and really the best way to go.

Are you trying to use both interfaces at the same time? That usually isn't an
option. Guess I don't understand why you'd want to use the USB port...

cox cable, my modem has both interfaces... saw it working, questioned the guy
and they had no idea that it was hooked up incorrectly... but it worked.

I have moto surfboard (black), but my question is how to make the firewall see
the USB as an interface or how to load 3rd party drivers, if that would work -
then I can have my network and have another on a public as well.

any ideas?

Subject: [Efw-user] Cable Modem USB Interface

To be quick,

Is it possible to use a Motorola SurfBoard Cable Modem (using the USB Interface
on the modem) to the computer EFW is running on?

I have tried (and read) and still cannot get anything to make it work right...
at least to me, at this point.
I've begun looking for a cheap Linksys Router with a USB Interface - as in this
area, you can use the other interface and obtain a usable/public (and separate
from the eth interface) ip address.

Anyways - maby someone has tried this already - if so (or if it won't work) -
let me know.

Thanks in advance!
