I think the problem they have with the Realtek 8169 (1
gigabit nic) is speed issues and high traffic.

The 8139C is 100baseT, and works fine. I don't know what
version of efw you are using, but does it start working
again if you reboot?

Subject: [Efw-user] Endian Issues with network

Hi,

I have a PC set as Endian Firewall with this configuration
- Athlon 64 Processor 3000+
- 2GB RAM
- eth0 (WAN) Realtek RTL-8139C
- eth1 (LAN) Via Rhine.
Before install Endian on this PC i had installed it on
VMWare machine with
few resources. Then when i had free PC i had installed
Endian on this and
restore the previus configuration and set as well.
This 3 days before holidays!
After holidays i have started to view serius networking
problem:
happen that the firewall do not responding by LAN, but
responding to ping by
LAN. Perhaps if i have established also a connection this
cotinue to be up,
For Ex.
if have established a SSH connection by LAN to firewall,
this session
remains active, but it's impossible to establish another
once.
If have established a RDP connection by Internet to RDP
Server behind
Endian, this remains active, but i can't establish another
once.
I have red a post of somebody that has problem with Realtek
network card ...
it's possible
