I have now tested the SMTP [amavis] part and it was fine. The p3scan should also be fine I tried to test it and I did not get the emails but it didn't log in /var/log/clamav/clamd.log which is odd. It's tricky for me to get a virus or virus sig into the mail spool because all the mail servers I have access to are running virus scanning :) sort of a catch-22. I tried to just inject an eicar sig directly into an email in the spool [2 tries both never showed up to the pop client soo...
