EFW will work with any CPU that has x86 support, there is no specific
kernel requirement for ryzen as its support x86 architecture 

if your running multiple systems, it depends on what virtualization tech
you will be using.

i would recommend you buy a used dual core system with 4GB RAM and a SSD
for the firewall and run it. 

there is no real benefit of putting overkill hardware.
