My 4 years experience in developing Chinese online systems and websites
using UTF-8: definitely no problem! Some webdev & web designer don't use
UTF-8 for Chinese simply because they are afraid of potentional
compatibility issues that doesn't exist!

I'd also say Chinese traditional also have no problem with UTF-8. Both
Chinese simplified and Traditional switched to UTF-8 on their own lang
files about two years ago.
