First of all, you can't use mqbindings since they use native code(is i am
right)(not allowed in EJB). So you have to use mqclient/thus maintain
channels for each connection.
Implementing connection pool in ejb will bot be a good design, i would
recommend implement it outside container as a remote object and tie it  to
JNDI and create an abstract interface which will help you migrate your pool
into connector architecture (will be part of ejb jopefully soon, that will
solve such problems)
