It depends on what you define as receiving a message. You can "receive" a message
inside a EJB bean by pulling it off the Queue using a QueueReceiver. If you mean that
a message is placed on a Queue and an EJB bean is notified of this event by calling
its onMessage method, then yes, you must use some third-party connector that actually
receives the notification and turns around and called the appropriate EJB bean and its
onMessage method.
