Hi All,
Our team is transitioning from traditional Java/Servlet/JSP and RMI to
 exploring the
EJB model. We are having some difficulties with the concept of a "table" on
 our legacy
system and what the translates to with EJB (entity bean). What happens when
 you want to
join two or more tables? Now we just take advantage of SQL and have the RMI
 class contain
the assimilated information. What is the best way to achieve this in EJB
 (entity vs. session or
perhaps the idea of a "super" entity bean or can a single entity bean have this
 knowledge)?
Does this also provide an abstraction layer to correctly make decisions on
 normalizing the
data model (as some of our legacy architecture lacks proper normalization)? I
 suppose the
reverse (denormalization) can also be true for performance reasons?

That is incorrect. I understand what you're getting at, but the thing is
that an EntityBean may consist of data from one or more databases. There
are no restrictions on where the data should come from.
