EJB1.1 is being developed using the JCP process.
The JCP process requires:
* A specification
* A reference implementation
* A test suite
You do the math ;-)
IMO the question is not "if" but rather "when", and more interestingly,
"how". A EJB1.1 test suite that tests for *full* EJB1.1 compliancy, but
*nothing more*, is indeed a daunting task.
