(1) Do the jsp pages, java servlets, java beans
that are communicating with the session & entity beans
reside on the ejb server OR the web server?
This is an addition that most of the app server vendors have added.
JSP,servlets etc is not required for an EJB server. The physical location
of the servlets, JSP, etc should be determined by the architecture. In a
lot of cases it would be desired to decouple them and put them on a
separate HTTP server.
(2) To secure the ejb server, shouldn't it be setup behind a firewall?
Only communicating with the http server?
Yes. The servlets and JSPs can communicate through the firewall to the app
server. That way your EJB server is secured.

Greetings,
First, we're new to ejb servers ( eval'ing websphere ).
We were wondering ...
(1) Do the jsp pages, java servlets, java beans
that are communicating with the session & entity beans
reside on the ejb server OR the web server?
(2) To secure the ejb server, shouldn't it be setup behind a firewall?
Only communicating with the http server?
Thanks for your help.
