This one is for the guys at Sun:
We all know EJB 1.1 spec has several drawbacks that make difficult
to model a serious bussiness model with this version. Some of these
drawbacks:
1. No relationship between EJB, neither inheritance nor associations
(you know, one to many, many to many, the kind of relationship used in a
ER or OO model)
2. EJB is request/response oriented, so it seems a callback
mechanism is difficult to implement
3. Home interfaces support only create/find methods.
These drawbacks are to be fixed in v2.0 of the EJB specs, and it
seems a new version of J2EE RI will be released with this version... am
I right? is there a expected release date? why wasn't this taken into
account in v1.1 of the specs? specially point 1... IMHO a way to specify
an inheritance or association relationship between entities is a basic
feature for a component model that is intended to represent data in any
serious enterprise database
