For those interested in a pure EJB server I offer this shameless plug - www.luna.com.    When you refer to "EJBs the way they were intended, CM entity beans, inheritance, generating mapping code, home and remote interfaces..." you have only just begun to describe Luna's strengths.   Our focus is on Customer Relationship Management (CRM), specifically Business to Business eRelationships (aka electronic agreements). However, our core transaction engine is our very own application server.  In fact, our CTO sits on the J2E standards board at Sun and we are as close to compliant as can be for the EJB 2.0 standard.  The only reason we aren't is they haven't defined the last remaining standard.    We have deployments at FedEX, GE Capital, Gallo Wines as well as many digital 1000 companies.  If you're interested in finding out more I'd be glad to help you out.   Thanks.
