hi,

I tested this problem with Oracle 7.3.4 with the script provided by you, there
was problem with 25 transacitons out of 143, following are the results. You are right
it is a serious problem if someone wants to insert and update with SERIALIZABLE
isolation level in the same transaciton.

'TOTALTRANSACTIONS COUNT(*)
------------------ ---------
total transactions 143

'GOODTRANSACTIONS COUNT(*)
----------------- ---------
good transactions 118

'BROKENTRANSACTIONS COUNT(*)
------------------- ---------
broken transactions 25
