Correct; now what I'm trying to figure out is: is this the ONLY problem
(from an API standpoint; there are other problems once you look at it
from a database point of view, i.e. lazy- versus eager-loading, etc.).
I'm beginning to think that yes, it is, which means that the problem can
be solved pretty easily with one extra layer of indirection.
