Stateful session beans do what you are looking for. "Login/logout" is not
specified by EJB spec. Authentitication is typically based on x509
certificates. Some servers may require a proprietary login/logout though.
You could have service built in a Session Bean for login/logout if you want
to handle this at the application level.
