The ArgoUML version is more for people who want to actually be involved the development of a UML tool. Posiedon is the commercial version and is better for a typical user. They do a free Community edition that is very full featured. It supports all of the UML diagrams reasonably well (so that immediately makes it way ahead of Rational Rose)   I have used it quite a bit and have found it very good.
