As Richard pointed out the specs do state that references must be
properly
passivated/re-activated.

I got a bit confused when trying to figure out 'references' in EJB
terms. Does
this always mean a reference to the EJBObject as e.g. returned by the
create
or find. Or can this mean Handles obtained from EJBObjects which can be
serialized and used to re-obtain a 'real' reference at any point in the
process.

Any thoughts on this anyone?
