Hi! I have written an article that I have posted on my homepage which outlines how to add implicit contextual information to RMI-calls, such as client authentication, in JDK1.2. The process is extremely simple and can be used for arbitrary data. The only drawback is that it currently relies on RMI-internal packages (sun.rmi.server.*). When these, hopefully, are publically published JavaSoft will probably make their own tutorial on how to do it. Until then, this will suffice.
