Them as in Sun?  They are probably not going to have a reference
implementation any time too soon, however there are a number of good
JMS solutions out there.  The best, in my opinion is InterAgent from
Modulus (now Enron Communications).  www.modulus.com.  Fiorano
also has a solution, though it is not as fleshed out and I believe there is
yet another (which I have not yet looked at). MS and IBM are working
on JMS layers for their queueing products MSMQ and MQSeries
respectively.

I am.  I have submitted my Async Method Invocation (EJBAsync) spec
and proposal to Sun for potential inclusion in the Moscone spec.  You
can get that online at www.chaeron.com.  Async method invocations
are a precursor to proper event/message management.  I am now
building upon that foundation to create a spec that will provide
messaging and event notification inside EJB (based on JMS).

I am also writing a book, to be published this summer, on JMS which
will have a chapter on EJB and JMS.....
