Well I have to give Roger Sessions credit he is honing is pro MTS argument
quite nicely. I think he is learning to steer clear of the technical
arguments and stick to broad marketing babble.
When I was writing my book on EJB I was looking for a term that captured the
similarities in architectures between MTS and EJB. During a discussion on
the subject with Anne Thomas, she came up with Component Transaction Monitor
(CTM) a term that is synonymous to Roger Sessions more recently coined
COMWare. I use CTM through out my book.
No matter what you call it, the value of characterizing and naming this kind
of architecture is that it provides us with a common set of terms for
discussing solutions and the merits of technologies. We can say that a
CTM, for example, is well suited for developing transactional systems. Just
as we characterize asynchronous messaging systems as Message Oriented
Middleware and CORBA and DCOM as distributed object architectures, we can
call MTS and EJB Component Transaction Monitors.
Personally, I think Roger Sessions does everyone a disservice by not
researching the subject matter so he can provide a more balanced analysis.

Subject: Yet Another EJB vs CORBA vs COM article
Hey
Don't know if this one's been mentioned yet. Component Strategies has an
article by mr Sessions on EJB vs CORBA vs MTS. As always, don't trust
everything you read (some of his assumptions are "interesting"), but
anyway here it is:
