1. SUCCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF THE ICH The Interoperability Clearinghouse
was officially launched as an IT consortium organization, last week at
the Washington DC Convention Center, as part of the Industry@E-Interop
Executive Forum. The Industry@E-Interop event, presented on June 29 and
30th, 1999 including briefings by top Chief Information Officers and IT
Architects. ICH received strong commendations of support from TINA-C,
OAG, Defense Logistics Agency, META Group and USPTO, who included ICH
information in their presentations.

2. PRELIMINARY I.C.H. WEBSITE IS OPERATIONAL ON INTERNET One of the
key outcomes of the ICH launch was a strong membership demand for
on-line ICH information, including an Internet presence. ICH has been
busy for some time, developing its Internet presence, and has created a
preliminary site for your perusal. Please visit our work in progress
site and send your feedback to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Please visit -- http://164.164.65.161/ic/index.htm

3. INDUSTRY@E-INTEROP: TOP C.I.O. AND I.T. ARCHITECTURE BRIEFINGS - You
will find these briefings on the preliminary ICH web site
(http://164.164.65.161/ic/index.htm), behind the Events link off the
ICH home page. A number of other briefings from OSD, Unisys, NYSE/SIAC,
and NASD/NASDAQ are also hosted under the Case Studies link on the
same site. From that site you can view the briefings on-line, in
text-only mode, or download the briefings in PPT format. If you have any
questions about accessing these briefings, please contact

4. PATENT & TRADEMARK ENGAGES I.C.H.: ARCHITECTURE IMMERSION PROGRAM
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has awarded ICH
with an Architecture Immersion Program engagement contract. As part of
the award, USPTO has subscribed to a two year ICH membership as a
Chartering Government Member of the ICH. The Architecture Immersion
Program is available to Corporate and Government members as a way to
benefit immediately from ICH architecture knowledge and lessons learned
plus best practices of peer organizations in their own domain.

For Technology Suppliers and Service Firms: On selected engagements, ICH
is leveraging the contributed expertise of member architects, from other
membership categories (supplier/services), as long as there is a strong
match between product/service provider and the large IT organization
receiving the immersion program service. This delivers the added
benefit of additional expertise available during the immersion program,
as well as, market access for the supplier.

5. TOP IT FIRMS PROVIDE CLEAR STATEMENTS OF SUPPORT FOR ICH

IBM: " IBM, will continue to be an influential force in promoting open
systems and interoperability, and as such, sees the Interoperability
Clearinghouse as one of the more significant initiatives in defining the
road map to enterprise computing. Our support of this initiative is
further evidence of our commitment to open, standards based IT".
SUN: Sun applauds the efforts of the OMG, OTG and DARPA in developing an
"Interoperability Clearinghouse" tool. This ambitious project will help
to evangelize what Sun has been saying for so long. "Open systems are
the best way to protect IT investments."
Microsoft: The Interoperability Clearinghouse initiative promises to be
a means for IT professionals to make informed decisions in this complex
area. Microsoft welcomes the efforts of the IC initiative and looks
forward to it becoming a useful tool for understanding interoperability
of IT products
LMCO: This initiative complements several on going COTS efforts within
Lockheed Martin Corp., and we recognize the potential value that the
(Interoperability Clearinghouse) effort will bring to industry
Oracle: Count Oracle in. This is a great initiative and will be of great
help to the industry. (pending)
UNISYS: "The Interoperability Clearinghouse is a important forum in the
drive toward viable, interoperable E-Business solutions. Unisys is
pleased to join the other leaders in support of this key industry
initiative. Barbara Babcock
Sybase: Thanks for the great [ICH] information. We're sure Sybase will
take an active role.
KPMG: As Information Engineering is involved in the development of
object/component applications, we would like to be involved in your
activities.
W3C: I think this has the possibility to increase accountability of
vendors to consumers, and so I like the idea.
OSD Logistics: DoDs Adoption of COTS based Information Infrastructure
can be significantly enhanced through the Interoperability Clearinghouse
tools and processes. I hope DoD does not miss out on this great
opportunity to join in this industry information sharing initiative.
MOMA: I believe that MOMA, as a consortium whose charge is to "oversee"
the message oriented middleware space, be interested in supporting a
"super-group" that was acting,s as a data collector and funneler for
testbed activities.
OMG: As one of the leading advocates of open systems and
interoperability, the OMG believes that the Interoperability
Clearinghouse initiative will help users realize the benefits from our
combined efforts.
NSTL: We recognize the criticality of testing and will work with the
Interoperability Clearinghouse to propagate our results
