Graham,

I have a CORBA service which generates unique keys via a UUID algorthm. The
UUID implementation is courtesy of Jim Frentess (active member of this
list). The CORBA wrapper on it is couresy of me. The implementation is
somewhat tied to GemStone/J in that it assumes that the GemStone/J activator
is used to activate the server component.

Give me a ping if interested, or give Mr. Frentess a ping if you'd prefer an
RMI based implementation!
