Hallo,
there are some problems. The browsers Netscape Navigator and Internet
Explorer do not (?yet?) use JDK 1.2, therefore the "sandbox restrictions" do
not allow the communications.
If you use Visibroker, you find in the documentation a solution, there the
so called Gatekeeper is used.
But I propose to use the Java Plugin 1.2, which has the effect, that you can
use JDK 1.2 with these browsers. JDK 1.2 does not have the the sandbox
restrictions any more.
I propose this way, because the example in the Visigenic documentation does
only allow communications, but there are other severe restrictions for
applets.
I explained all this in three articles in the German journal "Java Magazin"
issues 3.99 and 4.99. But I fear, this information does not help you.
