My first suggestion would be
Java Distributed Objects by McCarty and Cassidy-DOrion.
THen there's the Duddy-Vogels book, which I'e not read but others have told
me iws a good book if you just want to learn how to write th code.
Finally there is Client-Server Programming with Java and Corba(or close to
that) by Harkey and Orfali. If you don't mind cheerleading, and can ignore
what they say about the future of RMI (which is totally wrong), it's nota bad
book.
