I can not compare the two, as I have not had time to look into EJBoss (I too
have just heard of it). However, I have Jonas up and working, and I have found
it to be very usable (for a total EJB neophyte, which I am).
I found the most difficult aspects of Jonas to be getting the make environment
to work properly, which took some time and thought, and getting all of the
runtime pieces setup just right initially. Once I got past the few problems
I ran into, I have been very productive!
The most valuable resource I have found for Jonas, and the way I solved each
problem that I ran into, is the user mailing list. You can find it here:

The link is sometimes unreachable, but it always seems to come back. :)
