How good is the JVM?
Certain JVM platforms are more optimized than others are. Typically,
Solaris and NT are the best platforms for running Java because they are the
most optimized. Other platforms, such as AIX and HP-UX have slower JVMs.
Expect a 10-15% performance hit from not using Solaris or NT.
