>From my experience, both WLS4.51 and WS 3.x had problems when trying to configure for HA. In recent shootouts, the HA pack for WebSphere never installed successfully. While WLS did install out off the box, its HA cluster wasn't able to handle a completely saturated (no think time) request queue. Once requests were in queue, all WLS test clients received errors. If scalability, reliability, high-availability and performance are issues for you, I'd take a closer look at WLS or other AppServers out there. Just a note: Symantec was not purchased by BEA. Visual Cafe was purchased by WebGain which is a joint venture between Warburg Pincus Ventures and BEA. Visual Cafe is still a good choice for other Application Servers on the market.
