BC4J (Business Components for Java) is delivered as wizards in JDevelopper.
The docs says a lot of things like : it allows you to build component,
reusable, flexible, and commercial stuffs. It is somewhere written that they
can generate EJBs. And it states that it is an application framework which
make easier to build app components.

The point is that Oracle support itself is not able to tell us what is
exactly in that package !

Does anyone of you know what can BC4J gives regarding EJB creation ? Is it
an help tool for generating EJB Entity from a database ? What are the EJB-DB
mapping possibilities/facilities provided by BC4J ? Does it come with
Components library (Customers, Inventory or such ?) or with libraries making
easier to build high level functionnalities ? Do you also know how much it
depends on Oracle stuffs : can I reuse the generated code in any other App
Server than Oracle's one ?

Thanks for all the info.

PS : in one sentence. I am looking for tools which make EJB dev (and
specially DB mapping) easier/shorter.
You may find BC4J useful because it has lots of wizards for generating
components that can be deployed as CORBA servers *or* EJB session beans.
No entity benas supported, and I am not sad about it. The wizards also
generate Swing UIs and JSP/servlets clients.

No prefabricated business components such as Theory Center or IBM San Francisco.
