Enter the Java(tm) Developer's Challenge!

You don't want to miss your opportunity for fame, fortune and glory! The
$5,000 grand-prize is still yours to win, but you will need to act fast
since the entry deadline is May 31. We are looking for J2EE development
experiences and your hot design patterns regardless of the platform.

Here's what you do: Simply tell us about a design issue that you have
encountered when building an e-business application or provide us with a
Java Design Pattern. If your entry is selected as one of the two winners in
May, you will receive a Palm VII(tm), a one-year subscription to Java Report
magazine and SIGS Conference for Java Development pass. You will have a
one-in-six chance of winning the grand-prize which we are announcing at the
2000 JavaOne Conference in San Francisco on June 8.

All contest entries are reviewed by a renowned group of Java experts
including an industry analyst, a member of Sun Microsystems, Inc J2EE
Blueprints Team, and Colleen Roe, GemStone's Advanced Application
Architecture Team leader. Entries are judged according to the following
criteria:
*       Level of innovation
* Degree of usefulness (how widely applicable)
* Level of insight (how much insight into issues of distributed
applications are reflected in the submittal)
*       Ease of application

You can get all the details and rules, as well as submit your entry, at
http://www.gemstone.com/java_challenge/index.html.

We are featuring the Challenge winners and their entries on GemStone's
Developer's Center for Java Success, http://www.gemstone.com/javasuccess.
Congratulations to March winners, Steven Jones of Bauhaus Technologies and
James J. Angelo of Buildscape, Inc. and April winners Frank Sauer of The
