We have used CVS with some success. However, all the Windows GUI clients I've
tried leave a lot to be desired. We currently use jCVS on Windows, but it has
more than a few bugs. Don't try an update on a directory, it will wipe out any
changes you've made to any source file in that directory. Checking out a sub
module into an existing CVS hierarchy will wipe out the CVS entries in the
parent directory. There are plenty of other problems.

The best client I've used is MacCVS. Of course, it only runs on computers will a
real UI :-)
