Please remember that EJB is not the be all and end all of distributed
programming. There are things that EJB was never designed to do and the
designers put those specific restrictions in the spec (partly) to encourage
you to find other solutions. There are a number of other things that EJB is
not designed for as well, where other approaches are better. At the risk of
starting a flame war, CORBA-based products have a better chance of providing
you these capabilities without breaking the EJB specification. CORBA-based
vendors include Gemstone, IBM, Inprise, Oracle, Sun/Netscape, Sybase and
some others (????).

If you are having these problems, certain EJB vendors will provide a better
solution than others.
