remote exception running j2ee1.2.1 eg

hi all,

i got the following error while running cart example in j2ee1.2.1 edition..
what cases may cause this exception at the casting after .narrow() method
call
the area where i may have erred seems to be the deployment or some
classpath/runtime settings
,as the code ships with the j2ee and so should be ok.
the exception says..
caught an unexpected exception!
        java.lang.ClassCastException
                at
com.sun.corba.ee.internal.javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow()
