I've read on many occasion in this mailing list about threading
and beans. Other posts have indicated that beans 1) cannot manage
threads themselves and 2) cannot call any other components that
manage threads. The first restriction is clear in the spec.

The EJB states the following for the threading restriction.

"The enterprise bean must not attempt to manage threads.
The enterprise bean must not attempt to start, stop, suspend,
or resume a thread; or to change a thread's priority or name.
The enterprise bean must not attempt to manage thread groups."

It also states:

"These restrictions also extend to the dependent classes that
are used by an entity bean with container managed persistence."

I don't find anything relating to statement 2) above. Can
anyone point me to where this is stated or implied in the
EJB 2.0 specification.

Thanks in advance,
Chuck
