Hi
<open source>
There is (of course) different solutions to this. www.backsource.org (click
on the percolator link) offers generation on ejbs for different ejb servers
(currently WLS, Jonas, JBoss). There will soon be a release for integrated
ant-make functionality and log4j.
Because the solution is open source, you have the possibility to generate
whatever you want.
</open source>

I must say that the way to reduce time is to settle for a common pattern
how to build ejbs and integrate them into some build system. Usually most
of the time is related to the data layer and if percolator do not solve
your needs is an OR mapping tool (such as TopLink) the way to go.

Hi Humprhey,

we had the same observations. Hotdeyploy etc, does help, however most of
the development
time is often spent in unecessary build steps because the build envrionment
of ejb-containers
is not optimal (often only *.bat files or scripts !!!)

<vendor>
therefore we have integrated an "opti-build" step in our ArcStyler EJB
development suite.
have a look at http://www.arcstyler.com
In this tool suite you can generate EJBeans for different servers. We have
optimized the build step so you only need to rebuild the necessary parts of
a bean.
This speeds up things enormously. ;-)
</vendor>

hope this helps,
best regards,
Berni.
